NCNC – Press Release Jan 5

Nepal Center of North Carolina (NCNC) celebrated their new year 2010 with blast on January 2nd. The event started with free health fair for the local Nepali community and followed by transferring of power from old NCNC executive committee to newly elected committee. Out going president of NCNC Mr. Nagendra Neupane handed over the power and properties to newly elected president Mr. Arun Dhital. Then, Mr. Dhital welcomed everybody to the program with a happy new year 2010 of peace and joy.

He also out lined NCNC’s upcoming agendas/events such as opening Nepali class for kids, organizing various programs including sports, cultural events, Teej, Dashain and Tihar celebration to promote Nepali cultures and heritage and set up stage for network among Nepalese residing on North Carolina and its vicinity. His speech was very well received by the audience.

Afterward, NCNC executive secretary Mr. Shailendra Devkota geared the program towards cultural events. Local talents participated in what could be described as one of the most successful cultural program of SCNEPAL.org; where over 200 people were moved–dancing and celebrating the program wishing everyone a prosperous year ahead. It was a very delightful moment and a sight to witness for lifetime.

During the program, Dr. Dharma Rajbhandari and Madan Rajbhandari donated $200 for Bhutanese burned victims residing in High Point, NC. NCNC had been able to raise about $500 fund for the the burned victims.

Newly elected NCNC was also able to drive and extend its membership on the very first day of its working time. Twelve families bacame the life member of NCNC by Seeing new enthusiasm of newly elected committee and its impressive agendas ahead.

You will always be in our hearts

Dear All,

The last rites of late Mr. Rabindra Sharma is scheduled on 10 AM Sunday, 11th of Oct, 2009 at 235 N.Church st, Spartanberg, SC. 29304. His wife, Yasoda Sharma, daughter Riya Sharma and brother, Pitambar Sharma just landed in NC from Nepal in order to join the last rites. South Carolina Association of Nepalese (SCAN) is working very hard with friends and family with highest level of coordination. Nepalese Association In Southeast America (NASeA) is helping to SCAN on every thing. 12 friends including NECC Priest Shree Dhar Zyawali from DC area will be leaving tomorrow morning towards South Carolina. We encourage to all Nepalese who are living in surrounding vicinity of NC, GA and SC to join the prayer if possible.
